This is a great system for maintaining a set seam width as you sew! No more magnets on the machine bed. No more fabric slipping under and over the guides. No more sticky, ugly adhesive marked strips on the machine bed.
This set includes one guage and two seam guides. The guage is used to select your desired seam allowance between the needle and seam guide that sticks to the bed of your machine. It has an option for a scant 1/4″ as well as 1/4″!!! as wide as 1″. There are two seam guides to choose from for your sewing task. One is a straight edge, and the other has a curve that you can use when sewing curved pieces. Curved examples include when sewing the concave and convex pieces of a Drunkard Path block together in quilting projects, or perhaps when sewing a sleeve in garmet sewing.
The back of the seam guide is tacky and is easily repositionable due to its Sew Tacky TechnologyTM used in the design of the product. It can be repositioned hundreds and hundreds of times. When needed, you can wash the back of it with a multi-surface spray cleaner to remove threads and fuzz and it is like new again.
The individual pieces in the set are shorter than those purchased individually. While still very usable, they allow a more econimical introduction to the product line as a whole and are a great size for taking to class.
Our shop also sells a 5″ Ideal Seam Guide for the Singer Featherweight and their popular 10″. Each have a section cut out of the side to allow for feed dogs and a walking foot. The longer seam guage allows an even wider seam allowance of 1-1/2″.
